Trailer: "Waltz with Bashir"

A few days ago, a co-worker told me about an animated documentary film titled "Waltz with Bashir". The film, which premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, documents a 1982 Lebanon War-veteran's attempts to recover his lost memories from the Sabra and Shatila massacre.

Until I watched John Malkovich host the Christmas special of SNL last December, I admittedly never knew too much about him. All I knew was that there was a movie that came out about 10 years ago with his name in the title, but now I'm definitely on the look-out for his movies! Why? Just watch this 'Twas the Night Before Christmas monologue -- you'll see what I mean.

Trailer: "The Soloist"

Based on a true story, "The Soloist" features Jamie Foxx as Nathaniel Ayers, a homeless and schizophrenic musician who is considered a prodigy of the double bass. The film also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Steve Lopez, an L.A. Times columnist who befriends Ayers and writes about him in the newspaper.

An animated film directed by Shane Acker and produced by Tim Burton, "9" explores a post-apocalyptic nightmare in which all of humanity is threatened.
